The World's Fair Was Worth It "Even If It Did Take All the Burial Money"

  • North Berrien Historical Museum 300 Coloma Avenue Coloma, MI, 49038 (map)

Held in Chicago to commemorate Columbus’s voyage to the New World in 1492, the Columbian Exposition featured sights championing human progress in manufacturing, the arts, and many other areas.

This “White City” powered by electric lights introduced Americans to many world cultures.  But a mass murderer lurked in Chicago, and the city’s mayor was assassinated as it closed.

This program will be presented by Lake Michigan College History Professor, Tim Moore. Please join us for a look at the fascinating World’s Fair of 1893.

This program is free, no RSVP required.
