January

January 17, Tuesday, 7pm
Ice Age Imperials Presentation.
A new exhibit at the Heritage Center in St. Joseph takes you back to the prehistoric era when mammoths, giant beavers, and saber tooth cats lived among Paleo-Indians. Staff from the Heritage, Director Christina Hirn Arseneau and Upton Fellow Caitlyn Dial, will visit the North Berrien Historical Museum for a presentation on the Ice Age Imperials exhibit. Free.

February

February 11, Saturday, 1-3pm
Victorian Valentines Party.
Bring the family for festive crafts, games, and refreshments. With inspiration from our collection of historic valentines, create your own valentines to take home. Suggested Donation $3/person. Free.

February 21, Tuesday, 7pm
The Great Millburg Bank Robbery,
presentation by Alex Gates, Executive Director, North Berrien Historical Museum. Travel back to 1925 and experience one of southwest Michigan’s most sensational crimes. The talk will cover the robbery, capture, and trial of the men who stole some $52,000 in loot from the rural State Bank of Millburg. Free.

March 20, Tuesday, 7pm
War of 1812 History.
Dr. Chris Paine, Professor of History at Lake Michigan College, will speak about the War of 1812 as Michigan begins to mark the bicentennial anniversary of the conflict this year. Free.

April 4, Wednesday, 1-3pm
Spring Break Activity Day.
All ages are invited to enjoy historic, hands-on crafts and demonstrations and to explore our newest exhibit during the school break. Free.

April 17, Tuesday, 7pm
Local Links to the Titanic Disaster
, presentation by Tracy Gierada, Director of Education, North Berrien Historical Museum and by Jennifer Quail, Museum Educator, Museum at Southwestern Michigan College. Learn the stories of several southwest Michigan residents whose lives were intimately affected by the wreck of the Titanic 100 years ago. Free.

May 15, Tuesday, 7pm
Writing The Red Skirt.
Join us as local author Patricia O'Donnell Gibson discusses her book The Red Skirt: Memoirs of an Ex Nun. Gibson will review the process of writing and publishing her personal memoirs, focusing on a four year period of her life. Free.
